
Mustafa Hasoun, Co-President
Mustafa Hassoun is junior at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he is majoring in Political Science with a concentration in International Politics and Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies on the Middle East Track. In terms of EIRA, he was the head delegate at Oxford and now is the semester head delegate at the Atlanta campus. He also served as the co-chair for the Ad-Hoc in MUNE V and is serving as the Crisis Director for the Ad-hoc at MUNE VI. MUN has been a part of his life since freshman year of high school. Outside of EIRA and MUN he is involved in American Mock World Health Organization, serving as the Dais Director. His interest in politics, the Middle East especially, stems from his background: both of his parents were born and grew up in Iraq. He plans on practicing immigration law in the future, making use of his proficiency in both Arabic and Spanish. Outside of his academic and professional interests he is an avid sports fan, a member of Emory's Club Rugby team, and loves traveling, his favorite places he has visited are Spain and Lebanon.

Rachel Citrin, Co-President

In her time at EIRA, she has previously served on the Executive Board as Treasurer and has worked in MUNE III, IV, and V as an Assistant Crisis Director and Chair respectively. She has taken a gap year to study Arabic in Oman, studied abroad in Jordan, and spent a semester studying abroad at SOAS in London. Outside of EIRA, she is involved in Project Shine and Arabic Table. In her free time, Rachel enjoys going to concerts, exploring new restaurants in Atlanta, and watching objectively bad-quality reality TV.

Paula Fernandez Begne, Secretary General
Paula Fernandez Begne is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in German Studies. She is originally from Buenos Aires, but also lived in Sao Paolo, Mexico City, New York City, and finally Atlanta. Within the EIRA-scope, Paula served as the Crisis Director to the Somalia Civil War Committee during MUNE V, and she now has the honor to serve as the sixth Secretary-General for MUNE. When she is not preparing for MUNE VI, Paula enjoys conducting research in mosquito control strategies, salsa dancing poorly, and eating very spicy food.

She also enjoys storm chasing and meteorological research, and running.

Julia Bittencourt, Head Delegate
Julia Bittencourt is from New York City and currently a junior majoring in International Studies and Philosophy. She is very excited to continue as a Head Delegate of Emory's MUN Traveling Team for the upcoming year. Although she competed in Public Forum debate throughout high school, Julia had no previous Model UN experience before EIRA. From her traveling experience with the team and involvement in MUNE as a co-chair of the Chile 1973 committee in MUNE IV, Director of Publicity for MUNE V, and Undersecretary General for MUNE VI, Julia has become truly passionate about the Model UN aspect of EIRA. In her new position as year-long Head Delegate, Julia hopes to strengthen the team's GA presence and emphasize the importance of collective action when it comes to preparing for any conference. In her little spare time, she enjoys exercising, exploring brunch places in Atlanta, and traveling.

Carlos Gutierrez Aza is a sophomore majoring in Film Studies and Business Consulting, with a concentration in Media management. Although he was born in Venezuela, he has lived in various countries over the years all around South America, which developed his passion for travel and international affairs. He has a lot of high school experience in Model UN, which prompted him to join EIRA in his very first year at Emory. Last year he served as co-chair in MUNE V's Woodstock committee, and will be the Crisis Director of the Spanish Reconquest committee this upcoming MUNE VI. As a travelling delegate he's gained a lot of experience in both GA and crisis committees, which is why he decided to take on a new leadership role. As the Semester Head Delegate he wants to focus on cooperation and growth to guide the team into this semester's conferences. When he is not watching every possible film or TV show there is, or looking for dogs to pet, Carlos enjoys running, dancing, and going on impromptu adventures to exercise his photography skills.

Cameron Hall is a sophomore from Bexley, Ohio majoring in International Studies and minoring in Economics. From a young age, he had a fascination with maps that grew into a love for history and politics. He came into college with no Model UN experience, but since joining EIRA it has become an irreplaceable part of his college experience. This is Cameron’s second year of involvement with EIRA, and in addition to his role as a secretary, he is the crisis director of the Dissolution of the EU committee for MUNE VI. He is also a traveling delegate. When he’s not busy with EIRA responsibilities, Cameron enjoys running, skiing, and traveling.

The first time Reem went abroad in 18 years was when she went to Turkey’s airport which happened to be the same day as the failed coup.
